Do Or Die Artwork

My life was going along smoothly without any interruptions, and I was getting ready for a trip to the islands when a family diagnosis changed my life. I was working full-time and had expected to retire sometime in the next year but what occurred changed my plans forever. My wife was diagnosed with breast cancer and needed a caregiver, so I immediately retired and assumed my new role.

Her medical visits took me to many waiting rooms and locations at various hospital settings. One of these locations was the Greenwich Hospital Café where I viewed a large solo art exhibit. I inquired and became a member of the Greenwich Art Society and had a solo art show there also.

I had been an artist since my childhood and had studied art abroad in New York and France. For the most part, I stepped back from my artwork while raising my family. My interest in creating various forms of artwork was rekindled at this juncture in my life’s journey.

I was always a “renaissance man,” and my wife’s illness inspired me to feel freer to expand my creativity using driftwood objects we found along the shore. This experience showed me there was much more to do artistically in addition to painting on canvas. I felt alone at times but my artwork brought me back to reality. My wife has since recovered and promotes my artwork on-line and has become my partner/manager. To-date, I have been successful and have shown a lot of my artwork.
