Our Spring 2016 Arts Immersion Salon kicked off our 5th year of transforming the arts through collaboration, innovation and inspiration.  The theme “Transformed” was inspired by the fact that a piece of music or art has often lived many lives on the way to their current form.  We wanted to make this creative transformation visible and inspire artists and musicians to collaborate.

“Intimate. Innovative. Immersive. Beechwood’s Spring 2016 Arts Immersion Salon, themed "Transformed"... was certainly all of these things...offered 35 artists showing their "transformed" mixed media work; a downloadable app that allows guests to interact with featured art and learn about its back story; creative catered foods; classical music performed by Beechwood co-founder Frederic Chiu; composed and improvisational piano and vocal performances by Daniel Kelly and Frederick Johnson; Resilience stories written on strips of material hanging from the property's [300yr old] copper beech tree; and Alicia Cobb creating a body painting design on a live model.The event also featured a "community conversation" with the artists and audience, moderated by Beechwood co-founder Jeanine Esposito.”  Activities also included Frank Finochio leading the live creation of a Despacho mandala, a “transformed” hand-painted Ice-cream truck selling ice cream and an old-fashioned photo booth filled with technology created by Orlando and Zoe!
