The past 3 years my work has been highly influenced by the emotional state of the world we’re in today. I came to realize that painting how I was feeling wasn’t really what I wanted, so I started painting how I wanted to feel.
This was my visual affirmation of dealing with the world. I needed to escape the negative energy and focus on positivity, happiness, and finding common ground. I gravitated to the most simplest expressions and feelings of positive energy, happiness and fun.
I am enamored with how dogs are such loyal, reliable companions to humans. They’re always there for you no matter if your day was rotten or joyous. They remind you that they just want to be with you and share a moment with you, all at the cost of a belly rub. My abstract dogs are not necessarily dog portraits. What I am trying to express, is the energy and happiness of what dogs give us.
