I am the King of Upside-Down.

I am an artist.

I always was and always will be an artist.

Yet, I have no training. I have never been to art school. I have no art resume.

A class here or there and unfinished internet art classes, well many unfinished internet art classes. Partially read art technique books and magazines also more than I can count.

My process has been to go to a museum and get inspired, then buy paper and pad and assorted art supplies and look to see what happens as I experiment (play) with my materials.

Is this a mess or a masterpiece? Why? Why not?

I asked my friends, but like my Mom, everything that I did was refrigerator worthy.

Spoiler alert, sometimes it’s not so much.

Slowly over the years, the frustration became too much.

Now in my 60’s, I am too old for art school. Yet I am still creating art and still frustrated.

So, I took another art class, a different kind of art class. The kind of art class that makes artists' eyes go wide with fear i.e., a critique class. I am ready for the truth.

Is this a mess or a masterpiece?
