Program
This was Beechwood Arts Inaugural “Arts Immersion Salon”!
We celebrated the vibrant and long-lived culture of Argentina, Colombia and Latin America, through music, art, poetry and cuisine.
The music of Alberto Williams, Juan José Ramos, Astor Piazzolla and Alberto Ginastera spans over a century of distinct Argentinean musical tradition. Played by Argentine master Valentín Suríf at the piano.
The art of Mauricio Lasansky, Mauricio Higuera, Camilo Cadena, Anders Knutsson and others represented the genres of drawing, print-making and painting.
The poetry of Donato Perrone and others are examples of Lunfardo, typical Buenos Aires poetry slams. Read by John McMullan.
The traditional cuisines of Argentina and Colombia, with Asado and Empanadas, were accompanied by a selection of Malbecs from Mendoza. Delicacies from Raul Restrepo of the River House restaurant.
